Why Your Case Isn’t “Good Enough” ... and Why I’ll Still Listen
If you’ve been mistreated at work and told, “Sorry, you don’t really have a case,” you’re not alone. Most people who reach out to me say the same thing: “You’re the first lawyer who even listened to me.”
Why So Many Employment Lawyers Turn People Away
Most employment lawyers only take what they call “good cases” — the ones they can litigate or threaten to litigate for a large payout. They work on contingency, meaning they only get paid if they win or negotiate a settlement.
That business model creates a problem: even strong cases often get rejected. Litigation is risky, expensive, and time-consuming — for both lawyer and client. Unless every box is checked for a potentially big payoff, most attorneys will say no.
And in today’s political environment, it’s even harder. Companies and their lawyers are more emboldened than ever to get away with toxic and abusive behavior at work.
As a result, most people who are bullied, gaslit, or pushed out of their jobs don’t have a claim that’s “good enough” to litigate — but that doesn’t mean they don’t deserve help.
When Abuse Becomes Invisible
What used to be obvious harassment or discrimination has evolved into something more covert:
• Microaggressions that pile up until you feel invisible, even leading to smear campaigns
• Gaslighting that makes you question your own reality
• Constant subtle signals that you don’t belong — especially if you’re the only woman, or the only person of color, in a sea of sameness.
These forms of covert workplace abuse may not meet the strict legal definition of harassment or discrimination. But they cause real harm and painful betrayal. They derail careers, damage mental health, and leave people questioning their worth.
A Lawyer Who Understands Workplace Trauma
I don’t measure your story by whether it’s “good enough” for court or even a settlement. I care that you were abused, silenced, or discarded.
My role isn’t to chase a percentage of your settlement. It’s to help you:
• Understand your options and your legal rights
• Develop an exit strategy from a toxic workplace
• Negotiate your severance with confidence and dignity.
Unlike contingency-fee lawyers who can take up to 50% of your payout, I never take a cut of what’s rightfully yours. I only charge (a reasonable fee) for my time — to give you clarity, strategy, and peace of mind.
For many people, being heard and validated is the first real step toward healing. Even if there’s no lawsuit, you can still reclaim your power and move forward.
You Deserve to Be Heard
I’m not here for the “perfect” cases. I’m here for the grey zone — for people navigating toxic workplaces, retaliation, and silent abuse that others overlook.
If you’re ready to talk to someone who won’t dismiss your story, let’s connect.
